The Inner Critic Has Weather. Learn to Read It.
You have probably been treating the voice as fixed. The critic inside your head arrives in the morning with yesterday's grievances intact. It knows exactly where the weak points are. It sounds the same on Tuesday as it sounded last Tuesday. After a few decades of that consistency, it starts to feel less like a pattern and more like the truth of who you are. This is the trick. The voice is not fixed. It is just persistent.
