Your Journal Data
Your journal entries are personal and private. This policy explains how we handle your data.
What We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed).
- Journal entries: The text you write in daily entries and reflections, mood selections, and entry dates.
- Subscription data: Payment information is processed and stored by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number.
- Preferences: Timezone, reminder settings, and display preferences.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the journaling service: storing, displaying, and exporting your entries.
- To send reminders you have opted into.
- To process subscription payments via Stripe.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not read your journal entries.
- We do not share your data with third parties for marketing.
- We do not use your entries to train AI models or for any purpose other than displaying them to you.
- We do not sell your data.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your data at any time in your journal.
- Export: You can export all your data as JSON or PDF from Settings.
- Deletion: You can permanently delete all your journal data from Settings. This action is irreversible.
- Correction: You can edit any past journal entry at any time while your subscription is active.
Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account exists.
- After cancellation, your entries remain accessible in read-only mode.
- After 2 years of inactivity with no active subscription, we may delete your data after email notice.
- You can request immediate deletion at any time from your settings page.
Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption).
- Journal entries are stored in a secured database accessible only by your authenticated account.
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard security (bcrypt).
